The real life
video game
Electric karts on a floor made of light. The track, the weapons and the scoreboard are all projected around you, and they change with every game you play.
BattleKart is a five minute walk from the karting track
Two separate venues inside the Entertainment Quarter. If you have booked BattleKart, come straight here rather than to Hyper Karting and save yourself the walk back.

Five games, one arena
Every session runs a set line-up of games rather than letting you choose on the day. You can see which games are in which slot as you book, so if there is one you want, pick the slot that has it.
Get a taste of the games below
Three of the five games, flattened into two dimensions. Make sure to use your boost, and in BattleColor you can put a rocket into somebody and stop them dead for two seconds. The real versions run ten minutes, in a kart, on a massive track.
Paint more floor than the rest
It drives automatically. All you do is steer.
BattleColor is one of five games in the arena. Which ones you get depends on the slot you book.
What a session looks like
Ten minutes of driving per session. Allow about half an hour at the venue from arriving to leaving.
Book a slot
Each slot lists the games it runs. Pick the one with the games you want to play.
Arrive 15 minutes early
Separate venue to Hyper Karting, still in the EQ. There is a short check-in when you get there.

The things worth knowing first
Minimum height
Everyone driving has to be at least 145cm tall. We do not make exceptions.
One driver per kart
There are no twin karts at BattleKart.
No age limit
Height is the only requirement. If a nine-year-old clears 145cm, they can drive.
Session length
Ten minutes of driving. Most groups book two or three back to back.
Runs in any weather
The arena is entirely indoors, so rain has never cancelled a session.
Wheelchair accessible
The venue is fully accessible.
No helmets, and that is deliberate
Anti-collision sensors mean karts are far less likely to collide with one another. Fewer impacts means no helmet, which means you can hear the game and see everything around you.
- Anti-collisionKarts slow themselves automatically when another kart is detected close by.
- Nothing to wearNo helmet, no race suit. Turn up in what you have on, with enclosed shoes.
The usual questions
How tall do I need to be?
145cm, measured on the day. It is how the seat and the pedals fit, so it is a hard cut-off rather than a guideline.
Can my child ride with me?
No. BattleKart has no twin karts, so every driver is on their own.
Is there a minimum age?
No. Height is the only requirement. If a nine-year-old clears 145cm, they can drive.
How is this different to Hyper Karting?
Hyper Karting is about outright speed on a fixed track. BattleKart is a game you play in a kart, and the track changes with the game. Plenty of people do both in one afternoon.
Is BattleKart in the same place as Hyper Karting?
No. They are two separate venues inside the Entertainment Quarter, about five minutes apart on foot.
Can I choose which games I play?
All of out BattleKart sessions have pre-selected game modes within each 10 minute time slot. Take a look at our different game modes further up on this page to decide which ones you want to play the most.
Is it wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the venue is fully accessible.
What happens if it rains?
Nothing. The arena is indoors, so sessions run in any weather.
How does the pricing work?
Sessions run from $19 to $49 depending on how busy the day is, the same off-peak and peak pattern as Hyper Karting. The price shows before you pay.
